The Recreation Trails Program (RTP) is the federal gas tax program that is critical to how recreation is funded in Idaho. The Senate did not fund the program directly in their version of the Transportation bill, however, the House did at the current level of 85 million. Next week, an amendment will be offered in the Senate to include the House language in the Senate Bill. There are four co-sponsors; two Democrats and two Republicans. Our Senator Risch is one of the co-sponsors. Next time you see Senator Risch, say thank you!

As you know by now, the house included funding for RTP in their Transportation Bill at the current level. RTP is not funded in the Senate bill, however, and amendment is being offered that would fund it for 85 million–same as the house bill.
Our Senator Jim Risch joined with another R and two Ds as a cosponsor of that amendment.
Would you please send a message through Darren Parker and thank him? Please identify yourself as a member of IRC’s leadership and let him know how much we appreciate his cosponsoring the amendment to fund RTP.
One can never say ‘thank you’ enough and people never get tired of hearing it.
Thank you!!!!
